    17 Bangladeshi Pilgrims Die During Hajj

    So far this year, reports indicate that 17 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died while performing Hajj. Among the deceased, 12 were men and 5 were women. Additionally, 62,528 pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

    This information was revealed from the Hajj bulletin published by the IT Helpdesk on Monday, May 18.

    The bulletin states that among the total pilgrims who have arrived in Saudi Arabia, 4,444 traveled under government management and 58,084 under private management. To date, they have reached Saudi Arabia on a total of 161 flights. Biman Bangladesh Airlines transported 32,508 pilgrims on 82 flights, Saudi Airlines carried 21,161 pilgrims on 57 flights, and Flynas Airlines transported 8,859 pilgrims on 22 flights.

    Meanwhile, a total of 17 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia while performing Hajj. Among the deceased, 12 were men and 5 were women. Of these deaths, 12 occurred in Makkah and 5 in Madinah. No deaths have been reported in Jeddah, Mina, Arafat, or Muzdalifah.

    The holy Hajj is scheduled to take place on May 26. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has approved 30 lead Hajj agencies this year. The quota for pilgrims under government management this year is 4,565, and under private management, it is 73,935. The first flight for pilgrims to Saudi Arabia began on April 18 and will continue until May 21. After the Hajj, the first return flight for pilgrims will start on May 30, with the last return flight arriving in the country on June 30.
