ChatGPT, API, and Sora were down today, Thursday (December 12, 2024), following the outage of Meta’s Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. OpenAI has successfully identified the issue and fixed the ongoing issues after almost 6 hours of outage.
As per the report, OpenAI’s services including ChatGPT, API, and Sora were down since 06:02 AM (GMT+6) on December 12, 2024. Due to this issue, Millions of users from all over the world are unable to log in to these platforms.
Meanwhile, Facebook was down for the web due to the required maintenance. The incident took place on the same day, at 12:05 AM (December 12), 6 hours before ChatGPT Down. In addition, Meta’s Instagram and Threads faced a global outage. Luckily, they succeeded in fixing the issue within 3 hours.
The sudden outage of the popular social media platform Facebook and AI Chatbo ChatGPT and its services including API and Sora, the Text to Video Generator, created a buzz in the online community.
After fixing the issue, OpenAI officially announced they successfully recovered the outage issue. They wrote “ChatGPT, API, and Sora were down today but we’ve recovered,” on X (Formerly Twitter).
